雅思口语Part1范文:Public transport
1. Do you often use public transportation?
Yes, I take the subway every day to work. I hate it. It’s packed, really crowded, and I have to change lines twice. I really dislike using public transport, but also if you take a taxi or go by private car then you face horrific traffic jams, so it’s a nightmare either way! I really don’t like living in such a big overcrowded city.
2. Do people in your country take the bus?
Yes, a lot of people take the bus. For some destinations in the city it’s more convenient, and it’s really cheap. Depending on where you’re going to and from, it can be more comfortable than taking the subway, and you at least can see out of the window! There are also some places, especially countryside locations, where there is no train service, so you have to take the bus. Like one time I took a long-distance bus from Kunming to Lijiang in Yunnan Province. Actually, now they have an airport in Lijiang, but they didn’t at the time – I mean, they didn’t have an airport when I went as a child with my father there. Anyway, yes, buses are still popular in cities and to and from some locations outside cities too.
3. What kind(s) of transport do you usually use?
I usually take the subway, or walk if I’m going somewhere nearby… At times I take one of those hire-bikes you see around the city a lot. They’re pretty convenient and there’s a lot of fairly safe bike lanes in my city so that’s a good way to get around, especially in spring, summer or autumn when it’s not too cold, or wet.
4. How often do you take the bus?
I take the bus about once or twice a week. I usually go to work on the subway, you see, so I only take the bus on weekends sometimes if I want to go visit a park or a friend who lives in another district. The bus routes are pleasant and buses have their own lanes on the street, so they are usually efficient and on time.
新增:
1.Do people usually use public transportation in your country?
Definitely! Considering the population we have in our country, our public transportation system is actually pretty well-developed, so a lot of us prefer to take buses or subways to school or work. Also, taking public transportation is really cheap in our nation, so for commuters, it is a sensible choice.
2.What kind of public transport do people in your country use the most? Why?
Well, I think it depends on the region. For some cities where people have access to subways, they would probably prefer to take them because there would be no traffic congestion problems. But for cities without the subway, buses are the most used mode of transportation since they are really affordable and can generally arrive on time.
3.What do you want to change about public transport?
Actually, I am quite happy with this part of our infrastructure but if I have to change something, I would probably say the frequency. I feel during rush hour, maybe there should be more buses or subways, while when it’s not so busy we can just lower the frequency in order to save energy in the quieter periods.
4.Will you ride public transportation in the future? Why?
Sure I will! I mean I do enjoy driving my own car but sometimes I feel it’s not really eco-friendly. Since we have such well-established public transportation that can take me to almost anywhere, as a responsible citizen, I think it would be a good choice to take buses or other shared transport to help ease the traffic pressure, and to save energy.
5.Would you say transport costs are high in your hometown?
I don’t think the transport costs in my hometown are high. Thanks to the control of the government, almost everyone can afford public transport costs. People can cross the city by subway, paying no more than 10 RMB. Better still, students and elders can even get a discount when buying transport tickets, so I think the transport costs in my hometown are reasonable.
