1. Are weekends important to you?

Well, it’s quite important. I normally work round the clock on workweek; so sleeping all-day and chilling out during weekends are just right for me. Plus, I may go clubbing with close friends though I need a couple of days to sleep it off.

2. How do you (usually) spend the weekend?

答案1：Well, the best thing to do is to treat my friends to a night out. I normally take my friends out for dinner; finding some best-kept secret restaurants is the most interesting thing we often do. After that, we usually go to a jazz club or live house, as I’m a die-hard jazz fan.

答案2：Normally I’ll go out to some stunning natural places to let off steam with my family or friends on weekends; but if it’s not sunny, I’ll stay at home for the whole weekend. Mostly I just use the Internet to kill time.

答案3：Since I have to study/work on weekdays, on weekends I will just do some recreational activities. For example, hanging out with a bunch of friends or just staying at home all day watching some shows. Also, cooking for myself would be one of the things that I look forward to on Saturdays, because I love treating myself in that way.

3. Which do you prefer, Saturday or Sunday?

I love Sunday. I don’t need to hang out with friends and lie-in, as I have to shoot off early on the next day, otherwise I will be late for work. Plus, listening to some ambient music or reading literature at home is like a good day for me.

4. Is it important for people to have weekends off?

Well, it’s quite essential for people to have 2 days off per week. You know, in order to work efficiently, people need a good rest and should have leisure time to do some outdoor activities, especially those white-collar workers, to keep healthy and replenish their energy.

5. Should people be paid overtime for working at the weekend?

Yes, because workers have to spend all days in the office at the expense of leisure activities. Bosses should reward them with high salaries, higher chance of promotion and perceive them as role models.

6.In your country, do men and women usually do the same kind of things on weekends?

I guess some men play sports while women may just do housework. So men may probably do things for their own interest, by contrast, women spend more time for their families.

7.When do you spend time with your family?

I always spend the whole weekends with my family. I barely work on weekends.

8.Do you think employees should have to work on weekends?

If I were an employee, I would think this is a horrible idea. Employees are human; we all deserve to have some off-work time.

9.Did you do anything special last weekend?

Honestly, I spent my whole weekend preparing this test. I had not given myself enough time to go through the model tests before, and clearly, I wanted to get a good result, so I stayed at home and studied all day. I guess that is a bit different from what I usually do because normally my weekends are for relaxations.

10.What will you do next weekend?

Well, as I will have finished this IELTS test next weekend, I guess I am gonna treat myself with a good meal in the restaurant that I have been longing to go for ages. Also, I might invite several friends of mine together so that we can order more food and share. After that, probably watching a movie and taking a good sleep would be what I will do.

11.What do other people in your hometown usually do on weekends?

According to what I have observed, in my hometown, the people there are more likely to hang out with friends on Saturdays and Sundays. Some of them may go to shopping malls, while others might just relax themselves in a park or a garden. There are also some people resting at home but I think most of us would choose to go out somewhere.

12. Do you like weekends?

Yes, of course, because weekends mean two days of vacation, and I can get some rest. Normally, I go to school every day and study hard from Monday to Friday. However, on weekends, I can go to parks or watch a movie with my friends, and let off some steam. Although weekends mean more homework for me, I still enjoy this precious time.

13. What did you do last weekend?

I went to my grandparents’ house and enjoy a family reunion there. It was last Saturday, and also my grandma’s birthday, so my parents and I went to her home early in the morning. I ordered a birthday cake shaped like a peach, symbolizing health and longevity. After arriving at their home, we cooked a big meal together and had lots of fun.
