2020年5月-8月变题季的新话题——News/Newspaper。这是一道非常经常的话题了,长期存在。上个季度退出了一段时间,现在又重回话题库了。以下是小编整理的雅思口语Part1News/Newspaper范文,不要错过哦。

1.Do you prefer to read news online or in a newspaper?

答案1:Personally, reading online news would be my preference. I used to read the newspaper but the advances in technology have really made my reading experience more diverse and dynamic. I mean online news is inexhaustible and usually contains links to other related information. So, for me it's a pleasure to retrieve news from websites.

答案2:Online of course. Pretty much everyone reads news online these days, maybe apart from some older people who are not really used to mobile technology. Online news is regularly updated, you can access it at any time, and it’s very convenient – for example, you can read the news while commuting to work or sitting in a café or walking down the street. Pretty much anywhere!

2.Which do you prefer, reading magazines or newspapers?

答案1:As far as I’m concerned, magazines and newspapers bear a lot of similarities as well as differences. When it comes to me, I enjoy magazines better than newspapers. First, magazines are richer in pictures than newspapers, which fit better into my reading habit. Second, magazines are more vivid in narration while newspapers are too serious and didactic sometimes. Besides, newspapers are published every day and magazines are usually published weekly or monthly. So it is more environmentally friendly to read magazines instead of newspapers.

答案2:I definitely prefer to read magazines. I’m not so into politics and stuff like this, so I don’t pay a lot of attention to news, newspapers or news apps. However, I do like magazines, or at least online versions of magazines. I’m interested in celebrity gossip stories, fashion articles, sports… I guess I do sometimes read the sports section of news apps, come to think of it. But, yes, mainly I’m the kind of person who reads magazines.

3.How old were you when you first started to read newspapers?

It was ten years ago when I began to read newspapers when I’d just entered middle school. It was a task arranged by our dean of students that everyone should take turns collecting and classifying news and share it with all our classmates. This activity aimed to develop the habit of reading newspapers and sharing knowledge with others. As a result, I began to read news from then on.

4.Do you think it is important to read newspapers? (Why?/ Why not?)

答案1:For me, reading newspapers is of great significance, especially for the younger generation. In the digital era, traditional paper media is losing its leading position. An increasing number of people have switched to reading online. However, every coin has two sides. Scientific surveys have shown that the younger generation is suffering from reading and writing problems. Reading newspapers can not only improve this situation, but improve their awareness of social responsibility as well.

答案2:Well. I’m not sure. I don’t believe most of what I read in the news anyway, to be honest. I think the news can be informative I suppose. And it is important to a certain extent, but shouldn’t be taken too seriously – like most things, social media, and so forth, you should take all this online stuff with a pinch of salt and not think about it too much or too seriously.

5.Why do you think people read newspapers?

Different people read newspapers for different purposes. From my point of view, their motivations can be divided into the following groups. First, some people regard newspapers as a connection with the outside world. Newspapers, which break the limitation of space and time, bring all the amazing and astonishing news to them. Second, some people read newspapers to civilize themselves. They provide access for the populace to promote their cultural literacy. Besides both of these, some people just treat them as entertainment tools which they use to kill time after dinner.

6.Do people in your family often read newspapers?

Not many people in my family pay much attention to the news really, neither on TV nor in newspapers. My dad takes some interest in international news online, and my brother often reads sports news – football, basketball and so on. But generally, we don’t really read, watch or listen to the news much.
