We always say that parents bear the responsibility of raising their children, however, my parents were quite busy when I was a kid, so I had been living with my grandparents for quite a while, now I still like to visit them in holidays even though I’m living in another city.

I’m closer with my grandmother, Qin. Anyone who sees her for the first time always feels she’s amiable. She has arched eyebrows and there’s nothing hazy in her grape-like eyes which seem to speak. So since I was a kid, I have been loving chatting with her, asking her for life advice, listening to her stories and sharing my experience at school.

Speaking of a family member I have stayed with for the longest time, I would like to talk about my mother. My mother is a warm and diligent person, for she has taken good care of me without any complaint since I was born. She was my first teacher who taught me patiently how to walk, speak, and how to have a good behavior. All of those laid a solid foundation on my future growth and I think she has made a lot of her own efforts on me.

My mother and I usually make meals together after I go back from school. We talk with each other about what happened in the world while we are preparing for the food that would be cooked later. After meals, we often go to the park near home and do some physical exercise together. If I learn some new types of exercise from the internet, I would share it with my mother at once. At night, we wait for my father to come home and chat with each other. In my view, my family life is so wonderful.

My paternal(父系的;此处指爷爷) grandfather I think is the most ingenious(天才的) person I have ever encountered with. Actually, he is a retired police officer and has been living with us for about 5 years. Ever since my grandma passed away, my parents coerced him to stay with us because they were worried about him living alone and no one would look after him.

But there was no cause for their concern because my grandpa is as strong as an ox and he is really taking good care of himself. He is so proactive and very enthusiastic(热情的) in everything he does. He would usually invite me to go hiking to a nearby mountain with him on weekends, or go play tennis in the community sports center in my city. Sometimes, we would stroll out(闲逛) at night after dinner or just enjoy some good meals in a newly opened restaurant in our district since he is just a foody(喜爱美食的人) like me.
