My grandfather is the boss and chef, working in a self-funding restaurant which is not far from my home. Before launching the restaurant, he had been working in a historical hotel for more than 30 years in our city. Whenever there was a celebrity or a high-rank government official came to my city, my grandfather would be chosen to the leader of chefs. My grandfather must be born to be a chef, for he has great gift in cooking traditional Chinese cuisine, especially Huaiyang dishes. When he was young, he could grasp the heat as well as seasoning of each cuisine, not to mention cutting potatoes into slices or chips. After the training for more than five years, he attended a competition named “THE BEST CHEF” at that time and won the gold medal, the working opportunity in the hotel as well. What is a little pitiful is that my grandfather gave up the job even though he enjoyed working in the hotel. You must be in want of asking why? Why he quit the job he liked? It is because of the birth of me.

1) What kinds of jobs are difficult to do?

Well, as for me, every job is difficult. When someone claim that the profession he chooses is the most tough one, I doubt whether it is true or not. As the proverb says, “difference in profession makes one feel worlds apart”. As mentioned above, being a chef needs to stand in front of cookers for hours and keep swinging the scoop, which is definitely difficult, right? How about being a teacher? One need to keep illustrating the information and observing students’ reactions for hours.
