雅思口语Part2&3范文:Describe an interesting tradition in your country

2020年9月雅思口语变题季新题——Describe an interesting tradition in your country。其实这道题以前考过,对于9月来说是新题,但实际上他是旧题重回。

Describe an interesting tradition in your country

You should say:

What this tradition is

How you knew this tradition

What people do with this tradition

explain why you think this is an interesting tradition?

这是一篇关于春节的范文:

Well, China has a long and rich history, you know, so we have countless traditions, but today I’d like to talk about what usually happens during the Spring Festival, which is the most important celebration for Chinese people.

On Chinese New Year’s Eve, all the family members would come back home for the family reunion dinner, no matter where they are and how far away they are from home. And it’s not an ordinary meal, I mean, every dish has its special meaning. For example, we must eat fish that day, because in Chinese, fish is pronounced as YU which sounds like “surplus”, so you see, that’s a good wish for the coming new year, meaning that the family would make more than enough money.

也是春节,但是说的是本命年:

Last year was my traditional Chinese animal year. In the Spring Festival, My grandma not only gave me the red envelop as usual, but also a red rope bracelet. I was confused until she told me that it was a tradition that people should wear something red in their animal year. Because it is said that people in their animal year would go through more ups and downs than the normal years. And the color red can protect people from the bad luck.

The other older members in my family also bought many red things for me. My three aunts each bought a red coat, a red skirt and a red scarf. My mom even bought red underwear for me. I was asked to wear the red suit to make the New Year’s visits with my parents during Spring Festival holidays. It made me feel kind of awkward.

范文3,关于粽子的范文:

Well, since my home country enjoys (享有) a long history and is famous for various custom and conventional activities (风俗及传统活动), I do have a lot to talk about. But there is one tradition I love in particular, which is making rice dumplings (粽子).

Every year on the 5th of May in our lunar calendar (农历), my family members will gather together to make some rice dumplings. Some people in China will just purchase them in local markets but some families, including mine, prefer self-made (自制的) ones. So, on that day, normally all the family members will participate in different tasks: some preparing sticky rice (糯米), some cleaning bamboo leaves, and some washing certain small items such as coins. My favorite part of it is to wrap them up into a pyramid shape,.....余下范文省略。

Part3部分:

1. Why is it important to protect traditions?

It is important to protect traditions because they are part of our identity and they bind us to our roots. As it is, in today’s global era, cultural traditions are being diluted under the influence of western culture, so it has become all the more important to protect traditions. Otherwise we will be totally cut-off from our roots.

2. Why should children learn about traditions?

Children should learn about traditions, because these traditions will bind them to their roots. Otherwise they will be totally cut-off from their origins and will be lost in the global world of today. They will be just nobody in a big crowd.

3. What can governments do to protect traditions?

They can organise cultural shows and encourage traditional singers and dancers to promote their art. Governments can fund them so that they don’t give up their talent.
