雅思口语Part2&3范文:Describe an old people you know and respect

Describe an old people you know and respect尊敬的老人.

You should say:

Who he/she is

How you know this person

What he/she is like

And explain why you respect him/her

I think the most respectable person I know who happens to be in her twilight years is my grandma. I basically grew up with my grandma because my parents were too busy with their work when I was young. She is a very strong woman, who singlehandedly raised four kids, and one of them is my mom who turned out to be a very independent woman, too. My grandpa died when my mom was only six years old. He was carried away when a nearby river was flooded(被洪水冲走) and was nowhere to be found when the flood was over. My mom told me that she didn’t understand what had happened at the tender age of(年幼) six, and my grandma, after a brief moment of shock and disbelief, quickly pulled herself together(恢复常态) in front of her children and relatives. I think back then, if a woman had no husband to depend upon in a small village, life must have been hopeless. But instead of resigning herself and her children to(屈服于命运) a miserable fate, my grandma took up several jobs to pay the educational fees for her children.

范文2:

There is a small supermarket downstairs in my house, which sells some daily necessities, vegetables and fruit, which is very convenient. I like to stay up late, so I often go downstairs to buy instant noodles and mineral water at night. In this way, I met the owner of the small supermarket.

The boss looks in his 50s or 60s. He looks very ordinary, just like an old person on the street. He has no hair, wears glasses and doesn't talk much. He is a very quiet person. The boss doesn't seem to be rich at all. He has no children, and it is said that his wife passed away many years ago. However, he is an old man I respect very much. Why is that?

It turned out that it was one night about two months ago, and I went to his supermarket to buy instant noodles because I had to stay up late to finish my thesis. At the checkout, I saw him flick through a thick pile of documents. The profile looked like the profile of a child, with photos of these children and some brief introductions on it. Out 。。。。。余下范文省略!

Part 3

1.Do you see this kind of (above mentioned) help occurring in your neighborhood?

Yes, I think in my neighborhood, community members have tried their best to keep the elderly safe and sound by providing them with medical masks and informing them of the right way to use them, such as covering the nose, chin and mouth and pinching the metallic strip onto the bridge of your nose to hold the mask in place. As a result, I rarely see any old people who are not wearing a face mask or wearing it the wrong way. In addition, I have noticed volunteers around the area who knock on the doors of the elderly to deliver food and other important items.

2.How can people in the neighborhood help the elderly during the epidemic?

3.Do you think old people should be taken care of at home?
