you might have heard much about my favorite city, which is the wonderful Lhasa. I went there just this year, in the first week of May.

Lhasa is said to be the nearest place to heaven(天堂) and going to Lhasa is usually regarded as a pilgrimage(朝圣) for your soul or a way to one’s dreams. It is the capital city of Tibet, which is located at a very high altitude(海拔高度). So it’s necessary to be well prepared with medicine and oxygen(氧气) before going there. I remember the sky was crystal clear(纯净) just like a huge mirror. The city received a great deal of sunshine. There were less tall buildings, instead, you could find mountains just in front of you. The Potala Palace(布达拉宫) attracts millions of people from all over the world every year. So on the street, you could find more than half of the people were visitors and not locals.

Well, the city I have been to and would like to visit again is Xining, which is a city located in the northwest of China and is also the capital city of Qinghai Province.

I first got to know this place from an intimate friend of mine during the first year of my college. At that time, my friend and I were both studying in Xi’an, which was not too far from Xining. So, he suggested that we could go travelling there during the National Day holiday, and we booked the cheapest train tickets to get there because we wanted to make the most of our little budget.

1.Do you think people in the countryside are more friendly than people in the city?

Yes, I think people in the countryside in general are more open and willing to help each other, whereas the people in the city lead very busy lives and have no time to think about others. On this note, I have a personal story to tell you. I grew up in a small village that can be defined as the countryside. In our village, everyone knows everyone else and people are often more than willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. But when my family moved to the city, we barely knew our neighbors, let alone help each other.

2.Do you think it is possible for all of the population to move to the cities?

3.Some people say large cities are suitable for old people. What do you think?
