I have been learning English for several years and now I am able to speak fluent(流利的) English. But the first time I talked in English was not that perfect. I remembered it so clearly because it was during 2008 Olympics in Beijing. I was lucky enough to be chosen as a volunteer to receive(接待) foreign athletes(运动员) in their hotel. My classmate was one of my teammates too, so we were both very happy.

1.At what age should children start learning a foreign language?

Well, since I’m not an expert in the field of linguistics, I’m just sharing my personal opinion here. The best age for children to start learning a foreign language could be 8 or 9 years old, and of course it varies accordingly. On the one hand, if children start learning a foreign language when they are too young, they will probably be confused by the difference between the native language and the foreign language. On the other hand, if they start to learn much later, it is possible that they are too accustomed to their mother tongue and as a result, it would be much harder for them to master a foreign one.
