Well, recently I have got back in touch with a long-lost (长久不见的) friend I met in junior high school, whose name is Lisa.

Lisa was my old desk mate (同桌) back at that time, who was a good-looking and absolutely extroverted (非常外向的) girl. We shared a desk for a long time and often had lunch together. However, after we got into different university and got our own new smartphone, we started to use some new social media and stopped chatting on the old ones. For some reason I don’t know, I did not add Lisa, so we kind of lost contact.

1.What’s the influence of social media on friendship?

Well, I feel that social media has a very subtle and complex relationship with friendship. On the one hand, we can now easily contact any of our friends no matter where they are and which time zone they are in. And the ways of contact have also been diversified since we have things like video chat. However, on the other hand, I just feel social platforms also make people less close to each other sometimes. I mean I often see a bunch of friends hanging out together with their eyes glued to the screen. They are busy messaging people far away but neglect those who are just in front of them.
