When I was a kid, I was fond of (着迷) the popular fantasy novel Harry Potter. The magical world in that book was so intriguing, until I heard my English tutor label it 'the children’s version of The Lord of the Rings'. Then this name aroused my interest. After I read it, I soon forgot about the childish (幼稚的) Harry Potter and regarded The Lord of the Rings as the number 1 (排名第一的) in my mind.

The Lord of the Rings is an epic high fantasy novel written by English author Tolkien. The story began as a sequel (续集) to Tolkien's 1937 fantasy novel, The Hobbit, but it eventually developed into a much larger work. Thousands of years before the events of the novel, the Dark Lord Sauron had forged the One Ring to rule those who wore them: the leaders of Men, Elves and Dwarves. He was later 。。。。。余下范文省略！

1.Which Group would read more, young or old people

That really depends. I guess generally speaking old people read more books, newspapers or magazines, you know, like paper media. But that doesn’t mean that they READ more than do young people, now that we have all kinds of e-books, online reading apps, or sometimes websites. So you see, reading itself has been redefined already. However, if you insist that the word “reading” refers to physical books, then maybe young people like me don’t read enough of them. I mean, we just love our phones ha-ha!

2.What’s the difference between men and women in their reading habits

That’s an interesting question. Well um I believe there are some differences, but minor ones, the main difference in reading habits actually comes from your interests or shall we say, “taste”. Nevertheless, I think in general guys prefer sci-fi novels, you know, Stephen King, Isaac Asimov, or sometimes maybe superhero comics, like The Avengers – if you call that reading too, of course ha-ha. As for ladies, I suppose romantic or fantasy novels may be more popular. Um… This sounds stereotypical and sexist now ha-ha. I mean my girlfriend likes Stephen King too, and I am a big fan of Pride and Prejudice. So, really, it has very little to do with gender.
