The athlete I want to talk about is a household name (家喻户晓的名字), he is a swimmer - Sun Yang.

He is a very industrious (勤勉的) and dedicated (敬业的) swimmer.

In 2012, he became the first Chinese man to win an Olympic gold medal in swimming. That’s groundbreaking, you know. After that, the whole nation’s eyes were on him. So far, he has won countless honors (荣誉) and numerous championships both home and abroad (海内外). He is not only the gold medalist (金牌得主) in many international competitions, but also the world record holder (世界纪录保持着) in the 1500 meters freestyle, as well as the Olympic record holder in the men's 400m freestyle.

1.Do teenagers like exercising in your country?

I suppose I could say yes. Many teenage boys are rather into sports, especially football, baseball and basketball, in China’s case. These are the traditionally popular sports here. Boys love to spend their weekends on the school playground, to get all sweaty and active. I guess that’s what they think is cool. Many girls, on the other hand, seem to go to gym regularly. Lifting weights, doing push-ups, yoga, Pilate and dancing are all popular activities for them. Through some dancing studios’ window, if you pay attention, you can often see inside a bunch of school girls moving with trendy music and absolute dedication. To me, it’s like, WOW! Suddenly there’s this new phenomenon for the teens! Like a new fashion!

2.Would you like to stay at home or going outside for holiday?

As for me, staying at home for a holiday is my last choice. I’d rather travel around, or at least have a get-away if I have some time off school/work. You see, I’m more of an outdoor person and I like to spend my holiday hiking, camping in the woods or travelling from cities to cities for sightseeing or doing anything that’s suitable while travelling. In fact, I have travelled around half of China so far, and experienced a few South Asian countries that are close to China. They were fantastic!

3.Do you think physical education is necessary? Why?
