The inventor I want to describe is Yuan Longping, the father of hybrid rice(杂交水稻之父). He has successfully invented the technology of making hybrid rice, which benefits countries that have low food production by a lot (为…带来利益). Even when I was doing my exchange semester in the UK, I mentioned him in class, and the tutor at the university knew him as well! Also, they are so amazed at the improvement of the production.

I got to know him through the top 10 people moving china ceremony. Of course, there were so many other people in that ceremony but Yuan Longping impressed me the most. I got to know that he spent a lot of time inventing this technology.

1.Do you think you are a creative person?

I am a Gemini(双子座) —- extremely curious about anything and everything and I can come up with all sorts of creative ways to get things done. I can draw things to look almost just like the thing that I am drawing, but when I am bored or feeling inspired, you might say, I can make a box look like a magical wonderland of happiness or an impressive underworld of danger and evil-looking images. I can follow directions to the letter, but I am always inclined to veer off track a bit to keep things interesting or amusing. So yeah, I consider myself creative.
