I’d like to talk about an impressive long walk I’ve ever had. It was last spring when Beijing had been raining for a whole day. The flood shut down (使……关闭) the whole transporting system. Both subway and bus were unavailable, and cars cannot go long in the water. Considering the dangerous situation, our boss decided to let us do teleworking (远程工作) from home and went back to home now for the sake of our safety (为了我们的安全起见). At that time, public transport halted as the water level (水位线) kept rising, so I had to walk home. None of colleagues went the same way with me, so I had to go home alone. One thing I hadn’t expected was that I walked for two hours to go back to home. Normally it only takes me half an hour to walk from my apartment to office. Why is that?
