Speaking of disagreement with others, I immediately thought of an unpleasant encounter (不愉快的经历) with my foreign friend Lisa over her dinner party regarding who should pay the bill during my freshman year.

At that time, I just went to study abroad as an exchange student. Lisa was my first foreign friend and I loved hanging out with her. One day she invited me to her birthday dinner. I was thrilled (非常激动) to go and prepared a quite expensive gift for her. We had a great time there. Unexpectedly, near the end, Lisa asked the waiter for the bill and asked each of us to pay our share(付我们的份). I was immediately taken aback (吃惊), but I paid anyway as everyone else. The next day I found Lisa to express my confusion. To my astonishment, she was shocked that the birthday person should pay for everyone in my country. To be honest, the ability to control a disagreement so that it doesn't develop into a fight is quite important in socialization. 3. Who do you think should teach children to respect their teacher?

Definitely the parents. Respect is a fundamental element in interpersonal communication and parents are the ones that spend the most time with the children. 4. What disagreements do parents and children usually have?

I suppose that there might be some conflicts between the two generations regarding what the children need and what the children want.
