I‘d like to talk about my experience of participating in the English corner and meeting with new friends. It was the summer vacation when I studied in high school, and I was about to take the college entrance examination (高考), which included an oral English test (英语口试). To improve my spoken English, my friend and I signed up (报名) for the English corner held by the local library.

It was pretty challenging for me because I was too shy to chat with strangers, let alone talk with foreigners. However, after arriving at the activity site, my friend and I surprisingly found out that people were so nice to us. They would actively offer helps to us and corrected my accent and grammar when I made a mistake.
