Governments advocate that companies should move to rural areas as bad traffic and serious housing shortage have become serious issues. I think the advantages of this do not necessarily outweigh the disadvantages.

From the government's point of view, it is predicted that once businesses are relocated out of a city, employees would move with their families to the rural areas as well. For those from the countryside who plan to move to a city for a job, they can soon he find one in their own towns. Expectedly, the pressure on traffic and housing demand would naturally be reduced because the city population may shrink to a certain level.

However, judging from other perspectives, the effects may not meet the government's expectation. First, not all employees are willing to settle in a less-developed town especially for those who appreciate the services and facilities that only cities provide. So they will stay and look for employment from city-based companies and the relocated companies may suffer from loss of employees.

Such practice means people do not need to work and live a specific area, which can lower urban density and improve the quality of life for people.

Secondly, it is beneficial for the local economy to move businesses to rural areas. Rural economy tends to rely on low-value manual labour. Moving businesses to rural areas can effectively provide more choices of employment for local people. This provides a good opportunity for local to choose jobs that can create more value for the society, which can improve the income and quality of life for local people.
