In this day and age, advertising has become an increasingly pervasive part of our everyday lives as it displays a variety of products, from electronics to automobiles. There is a common thought that these advertisements lead to homogeneity in terms of thoughts and fashion styles, nevertheless this is not necessarily the case.
Although advertising is quite prevalent in every aspect of our lives, people have become fairly indifferent to commercials and billboards due to the sheer quantity of marketing in public spheres. Individuals are also still able to maintain their personal tastes and preferences, due to the vast availability of a wide variety of items. Despite owning the same products, there are a range of accessories that can personalize items, including smartphones or clothing. In this way, members of society opt to develop a peculiar sense of style related to their clothing or personal items.

It is said that advertising is so influential that it persuade people to become similar with each other. I believe this statement is a bit overstated.
First of all, it is unfair to blame advertisements for the popularity of some certain products amongst consumers. For example, using iPhone and other electric devices has become increasingly popular throughout the world, especially in China. What are the reasons? I think it is because of its good selling points and designs instead of the commercials. While some might counter that some target consumers are vulnerable, such as children and teenagers, and they might be persuaded to purchase similar items, I believe it seldom happens since these days young people are longing for distinctive appearance and individuality.
