I am fully in favor of the opinion that the government should provide sufficient funds for schools to give PE and art lessons to students and hold some related events,while whether to sponsor community events in sports and arts should depend on the government’s budget.

As everyone knows,education is vital to a country’s prosperity. Only with enough financial investment can a school upgrade its environment and facilities and employ qualified teachers, both of which are preconditions to develop future talents for our country. Some may argue that sports and arts are not necessary to education and the money for these areas may as well be spent on more interesting social events. For this opinion, I have to point out its narrowness. Education is never limited to academic learning. On the contrary, it aims to develop a child physically, intellectually and socially and help discover his potential and bring it out. This understanding necessitates government investment in school sports and arts.

When it comes to the issue about how governments should allocate their budgets, some people argue that education towards students in terms of sports and arts should be enhanced at school, but I approve of the opinion that budgets should be applied for promoting professional sports and art events in communities.

Admittedly, receiving more courses about sports and arts, students can better cultivate their interest than before. In some schools, academic courses may occupy most of students’ time since it could enhance their academic performance. However, children may lack of sufficient education in other aspects. If governments give more attention and funding to those courses, students could broaden their horizons and may even find their potential as artists or athletes in the future. However, there still exist more benefits if funding could be spent on sport and art projects in communities.

One of the government duties and responsibilities is to pour its funds to the area of sports and art which can add spice to people’s life. The discussion centers on whether the fund should be allocated to campus sport and art or to the professional counterparts in communities. From a more holistic point, I am in favor of the view that social sports and art events are supposed to receive more government financial aid.

If governments spend more grants in professional sports and events, the value and benefit of sports and arts can be appreciated by more public. A larger number of people ranging from the sports enthusiasts and art fans can be found in communities and the well-funded sports and art events can cater for their needs and bring them more physical and mental enjoyment. Therefore, the core value presented by sports and arts can be better realized and admired by the public. By comparison, sport and art in school are in the subordinate place, which are usually regarded as pastime by most students and teachers.
