The pressing issue of whether we should employ animals for foods or producing animal commodities is certainly a contentious one. Despite the arguments that animals serve no value and should be killed for any purposes, my firm conviction that they should only be utilized for necessary needs of human.

As is widely acknowledged, it is still crucial to use animals for food purposes. Meat is full of protein and other kinds of nutrition, which are vital for people's health. It is, therefore, still needed to use livestock, rather than wild animals, to obtain energy, maintain health and diversify food for human beings. However, I advocate that some unnecessary needs of human do not deserve the sacrifice of animals such as selling and purchasing fur coats, and producing ivory decorations. Besides, such brutality is conflicting to today's civilization, and these activities will break the balance of nature and damage the delicate ecosystems which plants and animals all depend on for survival. For example, uncountable species died out because of poaching and illegal trade in fur, which will break the food chain and alter the habitats in which animals live. Such

It is true that animals have been the main source for food, clothing, transportation for the well-being of mankind, and even indispensable mean for medical testing for years. Whether the exploitation of animals should be ban or not is still a matter of dispute. While I believe that the exploitation of animals for the betterment of human’s lives is morally wrong, I would support a limited amount of animals ‘use.

On the one hand, human beings need the assistance of animals in various ways. In other words, human being has employed animals to fulfill their needs from the time since civilization existed. In fact, the skin of animals has been considered as the first material for clothing industry, and scientists conduct most of the experiments on animals in order to find cures for diseases. Without these, people in many parts of the world would starve to death and suffer from illness. Furthermore, some animals’ suffering can be justified if essential scientific researchers are made for the whole population. People who support animal experimentations would argue that opponents would feel differently if their family were saved by the medicine developed through the testing on animals.
