Nowadays, as people put more emphasis on children’s education, it is always debatable that what kind of modes for education is best. Some people believe that teaching children together is a win-win strategy, while others hold that talented kids should receive separate teaching as their privilege. As far as I am concerned, I hold the view that collective learning is a good method to inspire students at various levels, especially the disadvantaged level, and it will benefit the society as a whole in a long run.

Indeed, possessing a large capacity to think, understand and learn things quickly, the intelligent children may far exceed the normal students in many aspects. So if intelligent children receive separate education, they would be more likely to find the study methods that suit them most, and thus avoiding the waste of time and improving the efficiency of learning. However, this kind of “school isolation” may result in some undesired problems at the same time. Because of the intense study at a young age and the isolated conditions the intelligent students confront, their social communication ability would be less developed, and some of them may even face the danger of psychological problems.

Nowadays, there is much disagreement over how to arrange the classes for young students with different levels of intelligence to sit in. Some people believe that it benefits everyone if children are taught different abilities together, while others argue that a separate class should be arranged for the intelligent children, who should receive special treatment. I will discuss both points of view before giving my own opinion.

People who support the former point of view put forward that children’s education should place the focus on a balanced training. Unlike the higher level of education, which is much likely to incline to train the professionals and specializations, children’s education should be developed as a comprehensive cultivation. In this regard, if children with different abilities are put in the same class, it can allow them to learn each other and draw on the strength of their peers. Consequently, a rounded development of all kids can be ensured.
