While deeper and deeper urbanization has driven and attracted millions of farmland or small city residents to step into the fantastic metropolis, citizens from various origins, on the other hand, tend to be more alienated from people living nearby, in which there is certain some inevitability, and experts advocate that this embarrassing situation should be bettered.

In plain sight, there are considerably more inhabitants in a community compared with decades ago, which makes it much harder for a person to know everyone else there. The more strangers people are surrounded by, the less safety they may possess in their neighbourhood. In this way, it tends to be more difficult for people to open their heart to others. After all, as an ordinary person, we can scarcely identify a would-be criminal in the masses.

It is not uncommon to see that neighbours do not know each other even after decades of years neighbourhood in many countries. This is unimaginable in the past when gathering together and having a leisure talk was the most community activity . In my view, there are some reasons contributing to this phenomenon.

One major element is modern cities' accelerated pace of life ,which prevents individuals from opportunities to interact with their neighbours .In large cities, people work in the offices and have dinner in the restaurants ,which means that little time is left for them to chat with their next-doors . Since they are preoccupied with persuing their career and success, they have become indifferent to greeting their neighbours,let alone have a chat .
