The given table presents the results of a quiz about how the popularity of seven different sports changed within the century from 1999 to 2009. According to the investigation, which was conducted in an European country, football still attracted most of the people in this country, while golf and ruby only interested a small group of people.

It is not difficult to see that football occupied an unshakable position in the list of people's favorite sport. Though its share declined year after year from 57% (1999) to 48% (2009), it still was the sport that people are interested in among nearly half of the respondents. Cycling ranked the second, with a minor increase in its reading from the initial 32% to 34% 100 years later. Tennis and swimming came the third and fourth. Sharing a similar changing pattern, their figures fluctuated at around 25% and 18% respectively.
