Since the birth of a child, either his parents or schools have been trying various means to encourage him to be more ambitious so that he could achieve success not only in his academic study as well as his future career. Therefore, the importance of ambition to success is ever emphasized and in my perspective, being ambitious is never a negative character for all individuals.

Undeniably, ambition is a key to success. With greater ambition, people can be clearly targeted, well motivated and self-disciplined in the full realization of dreams or goals. With all these factors, these ambitious people are more likely to overcome difficulties they are confronted and resist all the temptations in the way to completely devote themselves to the work. Certainly, it is plausible for these people to make success in the field they are involved in. However, when people lose ambition, it is impossible for them to make any sacrifices or concentrate on their business so that they can never reach a high level to win success.

Around us there are many people who are ambitious and always work hard to achieve what they want, but there are also many who seem to have nothing to squeeze out of life(对生活无所欲求). My observation is that people with ambition are more likely to succeed in life than those without.

To be sure, ambition is like the force driving people to move on towards their goals. With certain ambition in mind, people will set about making plans, taking actions and then will persist when they are confronted with various setbacks and hardships(面临挫折和艰难). My friend John is a perfect example. Ten years ago, when I first got to know him, he told me he dreamed of becoming the best photographer in this country. Then he began to travel to all places in China, no matter how dangerous and remote they are and just last month he published his first photography book which contains a lot of fantastic pictures he took.
