When it comes to the issue about the impact of technology, some people argue that it is better to promote simple life styles without technology, but I approve of the idea that our life becomes more convenient thanks to technology.

To begin with, the way of communication is simpler due to technological improvements. In the past, it was inconvenient for individuals to contact others if they were far from each other and letter writing might be the only method of long distance communication. However, telecommunications in the current era allow people to communicate with anyone through telephones or internet. Thus, technologies actually facilitate communications, connecting people to each other.

The centuries after the Industrial Revolution have witnessed the inevitable leaps and bounds in technological innovation, enabling the masses to reap a huge number of technological fruits as well as troubles followed by. Thus, some start to propose to live an absolutely green life, and hardly can I share this viewpoint.

To begin with, it is true and unquestioned that human beings and other species on the earth have been confronted with more worsening natural environment than ever before. This is because nearly every scientific progress accompanies the depletion of natural resources and polluting water and gases discharge. The building up of factories and proliferation of modern vehicles are two typical illustrations. Nevertheless, it is way from satisfactory to combat these thorny issues by taking a simpler life after such long-time technology-penetrating life has been enjoyed, not to mention that our life would be in a massive mess if we entirely abandoned technology, so more effective ways, such as the application of clean and renewable energies, could only be utilized with the further development in scientific research.
