It is not uncommon to see various advertisements everywhere ,from TV commercials to billboards ,from embedded marketing to non-profit advertising .In rare cases,headlines fail to attract our attention or to arouse wide concern among the public. This influence,as for me ,can be either constructive or destructive .

For one thing ,as a powerful popularization means ,advertisements do bring positive impact .The public-interest advertising is a good illustration . Via media ,we are informed of the information that compulsory education is inaccessible for a vast majority of children from under-developed areas because of poverty and ignorance . Luckily ,now many of them have returned to schools with the assist of local government and warm-hearted people . In 2008 ,the Olympic Games was a hot topic in media coverage ,encouraging the public to make their contribution and efforts to enhance the national identity .

Almost every single individual in today’s society is bombarded with different advertising from children’s programs on Saturday morning to talk shows and prime time TV and most of us has get used to it. However, though informing consumers of more useful information, advertising in most cases take a heavy toll on them.

Some public service advertising could motivate and educate the general public to pay attention to non-commercial issues such as AIDS, deforestation, family planning, etc. So powerful is this media that it is capable of reaching every corner of the world as fast as it can and of publicizing different significant ideas to all people. However, this is not that simple in reality as advertising more often than not mainly functions as a tool to advertise the availability of a product or service and to induce consumers to buy products and to increase sales.
