2018年3月10日雅思写作范文：Some people think one of the best ways to solve environmental problems is to increase the cost of fuel used by cars and other vehicles. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

There is no doubt that traffic and pollution from vehicles have become huge problems, both in cities and on motorways everywhere. In my opinion, solving these problems is likely to need more than a simple rise in the price of petrol.

While it is undeniable that private car use is one of the main causes of the increase in pollution, higher fuel costs are unlikely to limit the number of drivers for long. As this policy would also affect the cost of public transport, it would be very unpopular with everyone who needs to travel on the roads. However, there are various other measures that could be implemented that would solve these problems more effectively.

First, cleaner fuels need to be developed so that pollution problem could be tackled,since the technology is already available to produce electric cars that would be both quieter and cleaner to use.Therefore, persuading manufacturers and travelers to adopt this new technology would be a more effective strategy for improving air quality, especially in cities.

Increasing number of people have regarded environmental degradation as one of the main challenges that humans have to meet in the 21st century .And some argue that this disturbing problem can be alleviated ,to some extent ,by raising the cost of fuels. Whether this will resolve the problem is very unlikely as automobiles，which are indispensable for people's daily life ,are not expected to disappear on the road due to the expensive fuel cost. In fact ,I do not believe this is the best or only way to protect the environment .

It is not unusual to read the related report about the news of escalating the fuel charge . By doing this , the car owners actually are noticed the risk of emitting more harmful gases ,thus effectively reducing unnecessary use of vehicles . Besides, this measure enables the government to serve the public better in environmental conservation and transportation by the revenue.
