Nowadays, young students are under considerable stresses from the study, their peers, and the commercial world. Apart from themselves, their parents and schools play a prominent role in helping them deal with such pressure.

In the perspective of study, students are obliged to attend late-night cram sessions to revise what they have learnt during the daytime or finish the heavy homework teachers have assigned. When weekends finally arrive, parents enroll them in extra tutorial courses, which eat up their remaining leisure time. In order to reduce the study load, schools can expand the curriculum, impose a limit to homework, and encourage students to take up more hobbies.

Though it sounds depressing, children are unfortunately less happy nowadays, which attributes to the increasing pressures children have to bear from various perspectives—academic, social and even commercial. People wonder how the pressures are built up. Personally, both parents and the society are responsible for the occurrence of the fact.

The society should be the first to ‘blame’ on the issue. Undoubtedly, the whole world is progressing rapidly, which boosts the sense of competition. It seems that the society is deliberately promoting a conception that to win the success is to beat the competitors. Kids are pushed to struggle for win, not only academically, but also socially as well as financially. Children compete for everything, the academic pursuits, the social participation and the goods they are using.
