With the advent of information age(随着信息化时代的到来), many modern games like cyber ones(网络游戏) have been gaining in popularity(越来越流行). Under this circumstance, an absolute consensus can hardly be reached whether modern or traditional games do a great job in cultivating various skill of children. For my part, I side with the latter to a larger extent.

Admittedly,benefits stemming from modern games should not be ignored. Generally speaking,playing video games is an interactive process that stimulates the neural mechanism(神经机制) of children. By this way, the eye-hand coordination(协调力), reaction and decision-making ability can be improved.Many puzzle games also sharpen cognition capacities(认知能力)like calculating, interpreting, logic thinking and reasoning. In addition, another practical skill trained from playing online games is computer operation, such as how to use mouse, keyboard and the Internet, as well as communicate with others by social networking.

It is true that children living in modern societies have more opportunities to play various games which are completely different with the traditional ones. In my view, the latter can benefit children more in terms of developing their comprehensive skills.

Admittedlly, the benefits coming from those modern games cannot be ignored ,one of which is to help children develop their eye-hand coordination.The video games on the computer also require the players' reaction and decision-making capabilities.However, the healthy problems this kind of modern games brings has aroused the public's big concerns. Because long time exposure to screens are bound to damage their eyesight and worsely their function of brains.
