2018年12月1日雅思写作范文：Some people think that spending money on developing technology for space exploration is not justified and there are more beneficial ways to spend the money. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is true that human’s fascination with outer space is ceaseless. However, some people believe that the type of research is a sheer waste of money and the spending on it should be transferred to other ways. My point of view is that although it is a money-burning project, space exploration is worth doing.

It indeed requires a great deal of money to carry out research work in space sphere. The money spent on space research and exploration is hard to calculate. Meanwhile, the government’s budget is so limited that it is urged to allocate more to those closely relevant to their welfare rather than those far from the reality.

Since humans have the ability to explore outer space,all governments have invested a large sum of money(一大笔钱)in space research.In my view,it is impossible to justify(让...合理) the money spent on such projects.I believe that there are several areas in which the money could be invested better.

Surely,considering the finite and exhaustible energy(有限的资源) on earth,outer space exploration may discover more resources and also expand human beings’ habitat in other planets;this might ensure(确保,很多时候可以用来替换大家用烂了的help)humanity’s long term survival and prevent the Earth from the energy shortage(能量的短缺).In addition,the interest of young people in natural sciences can be stimulated(激发兴趣) as well. However,more detrimental impacts(有害的影响)might be exerted(施加) to either individuals or the whole society. Space research requires long term commitments(长期的投入) and tremendous running expenses(巨大的资金消耗),yet can not be rewarded in a short time.A wealth of(大量的,用来修饰不可数)information shows space shuttle disasters and how NASA failed on some of its missions risking the lives of astronauts.
