2019年1月19日雅思写作范文：More and more people read news from the internet, but newspapers will continue to be used by the majority of people. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

I completely disagree with the statement that newspapers will continue having a niche in most people’s lives, and my reasons are as follows.

First, the widespread use of electronic devices, especially smart phones has subconsciously urged people to get informed online, thus rendering newspapers obsolete. When more and more people become increasingly dependent on smart phones, and information can be automatically and instantly pushed to their electronic gadgets, it is extremely difficult to shift their attention from Internet to printed-based models. Every second almost every Internet user is bombarded with the breaking news home and abroad with vivid photos or videos of the scene in addition to press release . This means that people have already been saturated by excessive free information, and that it is of little necessity for them to buy a newspaper or wait for its delivery .

Some people claim that an increasing number of people obtain updated information online; however, traditional printed news still serve a key role among individuals. I partly agree with their opinion.

There is no denying that more people resort to emerging media for news, because of their transmission efficiency. As the availability of Internet devices have boosted the popularity of online news, people can read the news on different gadgets and mobile devices without geographical restrictions. Compared to this, buying and reading a printed newspaper would be inconvenient. Hence, online press, helps news seekers all over the globe access local news as well as international news published by a variety of internationally acclaimed newspapers including BBC, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal. Such availability of online information far outweighs that of printed news.
