Facilitating the tourism, as the pillar of the economy, to realize sustainable and benignant development means safeguarding its culture and ecosystem. However, some individuals deem that it is inconceivable for tourists to fulfill the obligations of environmental protection. After serious analyses, I am convinced that tourists should undertake the duty-bound obligations that harmonize the connection between humans and their surroundings.

On one hand, protecting the cultures and environments of scenic spots is the compelling obligations for tourists. In other words, without correct consciousness and behavior of doing so, environmental conservation is out of the question. For instance, Beijing, the cultural and historical capital, is visited by tens of millions of travelers annually, each of whom sticks up for the protection of the city visage and its cultural inheritance spontaneously. Otherwise, consequences are unbearable to contemplate, due to lack of responsibility.

On the other hand, admittedly, the behavior of damaging ecological environment and cultural atmosphere can also be seen conspicuously, such as a Chinese signature emerging on the Egyptian Pyramids, which not only tramples the civilization of Egypt, but also undermines the image of Chinese tourists. However, such behavior, after all, is seen occasionally. The overwhelming majority of travelers will be volunteers of protecting culture and surroundings of tourist attractions, in consideration of tourists’ qualities and spontaneous will.

On balance, people who live in highly civilized current society treat the journey as a way to cultivate one’s taste and cultivate body and mind, so cherishing the culture and environment of tourist destinations is a mission possible instead of the “impossible mission”.
