Rural-urban differences mainly exist in the disparity of job opportunities and educational resources. The merit that a large number of youths make the determination to study and work in metropolises is prominent. After serious analyses, I am convinced that such decision is based on the youths’ own career plan and the inimitable superiority of conurbations.

To begin with, this choice enables young people from rural areas to take a shortcut to change their destiny. In other words, studying and working in conurbations offers young people a chance to escape from the fate of their parents who rely solely on painstaking labor. For instance, diligent students from poverty-stricken areas can acquire exceedingly good academic scores, which pave way for their future success. As for work, young people are also willing to undertake obligations, obtaining distinguished work performances.

In addition, the overriding reason of such practice is ascribed to splendid educational resources and plentiful employment opportunities in urban areas. Undeniably, young people studying and working in conurbations are dedicated to make the most of urban software and hardware. For instance, almost all the universities in China are located in urban areas, particularly in large and medium-sized cities. Besides, only in metropolises can young people demonstrate their talents and have access to adequate job offers. From this point, the tendency of rural youths flooding into cities is understandable.

Admittedly, the deprivation of rural labor force by people swarming into urban areas further extends the gap between the city and country. However, urbanization turns out to be an irreversible tendency, where the youth can enjoy various job opportunities and affluent educational resources to create more social wealth and realize their own values.

On balance, the choice that young people make to study and work in metropolises is advisable and coincident to the trend of social development in view of broadened platforms and development of people themselves.
