While there has long been a controversy whether we should make effort to save wildlife or improve the living condition of human beings, I tend to say that wild animals deserve their role to exist in the world and therefore it is our responsibility to invest in preserving the diversity and balance of the creatures in the ecological system.

Superficially, it is easy to understand why some people claim that human beings should be given higher priority over all other species in the globe. It is undeniable there do exist a host of pressing problems around us waiting to be coped with, say, underdeveloped infrastructures, traffic and housing problems in metropolises, medical services for senior population, etc., all of which need enormous state funds. In this respect, the government should not be distracted by other issues, but distribute the limited the funds on improving the living standards of human beings.

With the rapid development of human society, a number of issues straightly related to human populations, such as aging of population, economic recession, and unemployment have emerged. Meanwhile, due to overexploitation of natural resources and excessive deforestation, many wild animals have lost their habitat and are facing the danger of species extinction. Whether should people spend their time on human populations or conserving wild animals is highly controversial. I believe individuals should spend their time on both, as both of actions are crucial for humans.

First, due to many severe problems directly related to human beings have occurred, it is , inarguably, necessary for individuals to spend time on solving them. Specifically, aging of population will lead to a greater burden to young people in the future as there will be much more elderly people needs to be taken care while the gross labour will decline. Moreover, economic recession has been severely affecting many countries for years.
