Newspapers have become an enormous influence on people's ideas and opinions. Why is this the case? Is it a desirable or undesirable situation?

Indeed, considering the strict censorship every piece of news goes through before being published, the authenticity of information is guaranteed to some extent. (Newspapers is the reliable source to be trusted.)

Newspapers extensively infiltrates people’s life, serving as one the most accessible means of obtaining information.

Even though gradually being eclipsed by TV, radio, and more recently the Internet, newspapers are still the dominant source of information for most people, especially in the political and business landscape, and likely to remain in that position for some time to come. This is mainly because newspapers are traditionally thought of as the most serious news channel compared with TV, radio, and the Internet, which are often treated as media of entertainment. Newspapers are generally believed to supply more reliable and balanced information on which many readers form opinions. In a wider mass media system, nothing can beat newspapers in shaping the desires, wants, and thinking of the majority of people. That is why anybody who says that they can predict the death of print journalism may be either a liar or a fool.
