Urban cities are witnessing youngsters flooding in from their home villages to seek jobs or pursue studies. From my perspective, this trend does more harm than good to society.

The primary driver behind this population mobility could be a desire for higher-quality education or lucrative employment opportunities. Compared to the rural countryside, which boasts limited resources in either education or work, big cities have much more to offer. For instance, top universities or renowned multinationals are more commonly based in metropolises rather than in remote areas. Because of this, the youth is drawn from afar in the hope of excelling over peers academically or seeking a better livelihood. Staying at home, they may end up with a job of little potential and hence with aspirations unfulfilled. Therefore, the current exodus of the young population is largely driven by personal ambitions.
