The charts indicate the proportion which students achieving top grades in school examinations represented by gender during the last four decades of the 20th century.

When it comes to the males, their percentage of getting high scores in the exams of maths, sciences and humanities was blessed with an stably upward movement and their rising level maintained the same( 25% to 35%, 30% to 40% and15% to 25% for each). However, the situation of arts and languages witnessed an opposite tendency to the items mentioned above with the former being more noticeable than the latter (30% to 20% and 38% to 36%).
