Many old buildings play a role as a bridge linking the past to the present. Some argue that specific types of old buildings are worth preserving. I accept that protecting these buildings has some disadvantages, I believe that this protection benefits more.

Two kinds of old buildings deserve the restoration. One is those of cultural and historic value. These buildings are part of a country’s heritage which can be used to identify a country. For example, when people mention the pyramids, others would think of Egypt immediately. Furthermore, preserving these old buildings has an essential effect on history learning as they can show us how people lived in the past. Another type of old buildings that is worth keeping is those of economic value. Former residences, for instance, need to be protected as they can be tourist attractions, therefore, boosting local tourism.
