With the advent of the internet, people are being granted access to various valuable information thought a computer. In this regard, some netizens may argue that real museums or galleries are no longer necessary to exist since a great number of antiques and artworks are shown online. I strongly disagree with this view, because a real museum or gallery can not only has an advantage over a virtual one in terms of education, but also has positive contributions to a country’s economy.

First and foremost, physical museums and galleries are generally more successful than online exhibitions in educating people. This is largely because the former, instead of merely exhibiting art collections, can organize various interactive activities to encourage and develop the individual’s interest in studying culture and history. For example, many museums now offer daily guided tours, lectures led by experts and even family and student programs that help provide social support in nurturing interest. All these practices can provide viewers with valuable opportunities to interact with experts face-to-face or share interests with others in a real social setting, which are proved to be extremely effective educational approaches.
