In a fast-changing environment, it is virtually impossible for people to work for the same company or in the same way for life. There may be multiple reasons for this, but two stand out, and action needs to be taken to make preparations for such challenges.

We are living in a world with more intense competition than before. In line with changing customer demand, the market is coping so rapidly that companies that fail to keep up with the pace could be edged out in a matter of months. Additionally, technological advances pose challenges to the workplace. For example, as robots, automation and artificial intelligence perform more tasks and there is massive disruption of traditional jobs, employees who undertake lower-skilled work may get replaced and thus lose their jobs.
