The table provides information of the demographics of Australia and Malaysia in 1980 and 2002.

The structure of Australia's population only changed slightly between the two separate years. While there was a fall in its birth rate by 0.3% from 15.3 per thousand people in 1980, an increase from 10.4% to 14.3% was shown by the proportion of people aged over 65. Moreover, the unchanged gender ratio indicated that there were equal numbers of female and male in Australia.

Meanwhile, the demographics of Malaysia depicted similar changes, but at different scales. In spite of twice that of Australia, Malaysia’s birth rate showed a downward trend from 2.95% to 2.31%.
