With the computers being widely used today, many people tend to study and work wherever there is easy access to Internet instead of going to school or company as they used to.

Advocators of this tendency include college students and office workers who wish to gain more skills after work. As the schedules of online courses are flexible and they can be viewed repeatedly, people can pick up their learning contents anytime as long as they have access to Internet. Besides, many online learning resources are free and open to everyone including the disabled who are physically unfit to travel too much. Also, working from home or places where Internet is available is very popular among many employees. In Silicon Valley, for instance, it is very common that IT companies allow their employees to have several days working at home. No necessity to go to company also saves the toil and cost of commuting on the road.

However, the drawbacks of studying or working with computers can never be neglected and undoubtedly it is not applicable for everyone. First, studying online can never replace the traditional school class. This is particularly true for young children who are supposed to acquire systematic theory knowledge as well as receive moral education that can only be provided by teachers in school.
