The statistics represent the types of buildings in that Australians lived in the year of 2001 and 2006. In general, living in a house was the most common type of dwelling in Victoria, the Northern Territories and Tasmania.
In Tasmania of Australia, 88% of people lived in a house, and this percentage did not change much in 2006, at 86%. The rest Australians lived either in a duplex (7%) or a flat (4%) in 2001, with little change after 5 years. Very few people chose other type of buildings.
Victorians were also used to residing in a house in spite of a moderate drop from 79% to 75% during the same period. Those living in a duplex made up 13% and 14% in the respective year, with flats as the left complement.
