The chart predicts that the world average percentage of dependent population will increase from 40% in 2000 to 50% by the year 2050. In addition, figures for five Asian countries are presented over the same period.

The dependent population in Korea was 30% in 2000, which was the smallest across five countries. However, it is estimated to double by 2050，which will be the largest one among five countries.

In contrast, the dependent population in India was the largest (50%) in 2000. But it is predicted that the figure will decrease by 15%, leading to the smallest dependent population in five countries.
